MCR newsGerard on theme song for Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Date: April 22nd 2009 Gerard Way teamed up with Kyosuke Himuro to record a new theme song for the ending credits of the blu-ray version of 'Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children'. According to eyewitnesses the scene was quite elaborate and included more than 250 angry extras rushing out of a building and into the street before someone was chased by police dogs and arrested. Gerard Way narrates animation Date: December 20th 2008 Gerard narrated Voltaire's short animation film for Glass Eye Pix's Creepy Christmas film festival. Voltaire's film, "X-mess Detritus" is a cautionary parable about the dangers of holiday gift-giving and the effect the resulting garbage has on the Earth. Date: December 1st 2008 The official My Chemical Romance website has been given a new look. When a new album is released, the website gets a new colour scheme and layout. Now that The Black Parade is dead, and the band is in between albums, the site's look has been brought back to basics. New feature is the blog, that is being heavily (mis)used by some of the band members, and their Twitter accounts. It's clear that this break has been going on long enough now, boys are getting bored! Way says they are are currently searching for screenwriters and that he is a big fan of director Alfonso Cuarón. Cuarón is definitely on Way's wish list but he remains totally open to others as well. Also, so far as his involvement in the film, he wants to be creatively involved but overall have the film be the vision of a director he trusts completely. He has also spoke with costume designer Colleen Atwood (most recently of Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street) about working together on the film. The rumor is that it will have something to do with Batman but that isn’t confirmed yet at press time. MCR are currently taking time off after finishing their world tour in support of their most recent album, The Black Parade. Though Leathermouth have yet to release their first album, the band already has quite a following. If you're expecting them to be like MCR, you'll be in for a surprise. And the news just keeps getting better, as director Zack Snyder has revealed exclusively to MTV News that the only post-1985 song in the film will feature one of today’s hottest bands. “My Chemical Romance is absolutely awesome,” the “300” director revealed. “And Gerard [Way] is a huge fan of ‘Watchmen’.” Like the classic graphic novel, Snyder’s film will span the decades utilizing a Forrest Gump-like soundtrack of period-evocative music from the turbulent Sixties, the me-decade Seventies and the awesome Eighties.
